Council Highlights – July 11, 2016

· Tree trimming and tree removal at parsonage has a bid from Don Cole’s Tree Service for a total of $1,300.

· Rick Moeller submitted a bid for wallpaper removal in all three offices and painting of each for $1,300 and painting of Narthex and foyer ceiling for $950 for a total of $2,250.  Rick Moeller will be asked to look at the ceiling on the left side in the sanctuary where there is ceiling stains for possible repainting.

· President Geoff Wright reminded all that background checks will be a requirement of all volunteers working with youth at VBS.

· President Geoff Wright presented copies of each the two forms to be submitted for a Ministerial Call, as prepared by the committee. He led the Council through each section of each document to ask for any input, changes, or concerns.  Many of the statistics came directly from the Synod.  The two documents were accepted for submission to the Synod and approved unanimously  by a motion of Scott Attig, seconded by Betty Clementz.  (N.B.:  Pastor Vicki abstained from voting.)  Concern was raised about our lack of language which specifies terms of Sabbatical Leave, such as when it may become available to a pastor, what length of time, what time of year, etc.
