Mendota Lutheran Home

Mendota Lutheran Home Corporation annual meeting was held Sunday, March 17, 2019.  Mendota Lutheran Home has been for sale since the fall of 2018 with no success in selling.  One interested buyer turned them down because of demographics.  They are $1.5 million in debt.

They have a new administrator, Erica Falk and are working hard on reducing expenses, continue to work with banks, and planning an audit, to have a clearer picture of what went wrong and are making progress.

A motion was made to challenge the board to create a tax force for a debt reduction campaign to be brought back to the board of congregations with financial statements.  We would then take a vote on the proposition at the next meeting of delegates, possibly the fourth Sunday in June, 2019.

There is a need for a Pastor and another board member to serve on the Mendota Lutheran Home board.  They also need 3-5 people on the task force before the next meeting.

Be prayerful for the home.  Pray that they may continue, won’t have to sell, their census increases and that the Holy Spirit leads them.
