A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has been stepping up and serving as they are able this summer! So many of you donated items and volunteered for CommUNITY VBS and all of the prep to the facility prior. THANK YOU for “serving one another humbly in love!”
In high school I took three and half years of Spanish. I was taught that when someone says, “Gracias!” (Thank you!) I was to respond “denada” (You’re welcome.) When I was serving in youth and family ministry in Washington State, we went on a service trip to Costa Rica. While in Costa Rica, when we would thank people, they most often replied “mucho gusto” meaning “my pleasure.” Although we were there to serve, we were served with joy—as if it really was their pleasure to do so. As we begin this academic year (in Mid-August) I am hoping and praying for myself and our congregation that I, that we, will grow in the ability to serve with joy, for it is my pleasure, it is our pleasure to do so.
