Women of the ELCA – WELCA OF IMMANUEL – MAY 2018

The first week of May was very busy for WELCA.  51 people attended the Mother/Daughter potluck banquet on May 1st hosted by WELCA.  An offering of $75.00 was collected and sent to Rock River Hospice & Home.  On May 3, the National Day of Prayer Breakfast was served by our WELCA group at Immanuel.  The Church Women United Friendship Day was at the First Presbyterian Church in Sterling on May 4.  Thanks to all who attended and helped in various ways!

Recently the ladies have received much joy in making quilts for our graduates, our married couple and baptisms.  Mission Action Sewing ladies will be meeting on Wednesdays, June 13th and June 27th from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.  Share your Wednesday mornings two times a month with this caring ministry of ladies where many hands make light work!

The next Bible study will be on Tuesday, June 19th, 9:00 a.m. with Mary Circle as hostesses.  The June, July, Aug. Bible Study is on prayer.  “The Paradoxes of Prayer” from 1 Samuel 12:16-23.  Readers investigate the paradoxical truths of this spiritual practice.  All women of Immanuel are members of WELCA and welcome to join the next Bible Study.
