Dear Partners in Ministry,

Thanks be to God for all that is taking place in our congregation and the delight of God’s generosity that we experience in so many different ways.  Generosity is the focus of this final year of our three-year series on stewardship.  First, We Give of Ourselves.  Our stewardship and discipleship journey takes us to the theme of this year, Giving in Generosity.  Over the next number of weeks, we will have the opportunity to explore the concept of “generosity”, both God’s and ours.  Hopefully this will be a faith filled and discipleship growing experience for you.

Our journey as growing disciples and stewards who live and practice generosity will be guided by an all congregation Bible Study, sermons, opportunities for generosity, and ways that we can immerse ourselves in an understanding of God’s rich abundance and generosity in Christ.  God’s generosity is centered in the abundance of grace in Jesus Christ.  What might that abundance of grace look like to you?  How do you live each day in the reality of God’s generosity?  How does God’s generosity provide a model for your own generosity?  These are just a few of the questions we will explore together we as we seek to grow I discipleship and generous stewards.

Our Kick Off Sunday for “First, We Give of Ourselves:  Giving in Generosity” will be Sunday, October 16, 2016.  Our Celebration and Commitment Sunday will be Sunday, December 4, 2016.  At this service we will celebrate God’s generosity and indicate how we will generously share our gifts in response to God’s rich grace.

On Sunday, October 30, 2016, we will celebrate Generosity Sunday, which will provide our congregation an opportunity of generosity toward a ministry outside the congregation.  Look for more news on what this ministry might be and our plans for this day.

“Giving in Generosity” All Congregation Bible Study

Gathering around God’s Word is always a growing experience.  As we share this journey of generosity, we have the opportunity to share in an ALL congregation Bible Study entitled, “Giving in Generosity”.  This four-week series explores God’s abundance, God’s generous giving of grace in Christ, and our generosity.  Together we explore God’s giving and how that leads us in our understanding of giving and generosity as disciples and stewards.  These all congregation Bible Studies will be held after worship, beginning at 10:20 a.m., on:  October 23, November 6,13, and 20.  Each session is only 45 minutes long.

Make it your priority to be in worship and join a “giving in Generosity” Bible Study this fall as we consider how First, We Give of Ourselves.  What a wonderful blessing it will be to grow in and share the delight of generosity.
