This month we are celebrating the HOSPITALITY MINISTRY TEAM! This team focuses on areas that make Hospitality Ministry possible. The following are the areas of the Hospitality Ministry Team and the leaders of each area. PLEASE contact the leaders directly if you would like to assist with any aspects of Hospitality!
Overall Leadership of the Hospitality Team: Betty Clementz and Elise Moeller
The activities of the Hospitality Ministry Team are as follows:
- Greeters and Door Managers – for all members of the congregation to serve in these capacities to create a welcoming atmosphere to all who enter. Volunteers are sought from the congregation for monthly assignments.
- Temple Talks – are delivered on a need basis, not always by members of the Hospitality Ministry Team. Topics of Temple Talks usually focus on upcoming events which are shared with the congregation to encourage participation, such as work days, VBS, Relay For Life, Feed Our Children,etc.
- Website – immanuelrockfalls.com continues to be expanded, especially with photos that are posted. Congregation is encouraged to send photos of church events to be posted not only on the website, but also to share in worship services.
- Parades – Thanks to Matthew Hicks, a replica of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church was constructed to be used in parades. Parade entries need individuals to ride on the float according to the theme. Next parade is planned for 1 p.m. on September 15, 2018 for the Mexican Fiesta Day. Riders on float are asked to sign up in Narthex prior to each parade.
- Facebook – is used to distribute information and share photos of events. Many groups at Immanuel use the site to post meetings and announcements.
- Bulletin Board – was organized and constantly replaced for each season.
- Cards – are sent monthly to shut-ins on the monthly list in Messenger.
- Bring A Friend Sunday – on August 19th was an annual activity to encourage members of the congregation to reach out to the unchurched: those with no church affiliation, our own members who are non-attending, as well as to neighbors, co-workers, and friends. A continental breakfast was shared after worship, and an Immanuel coffee cup was given to each ‘guest’.
Bulletin Boards in Narthex: Both bulletin boards are updated according to the season of the year or events at Immanuel.
The members of the HOSPITALITY Ministry Team include Jennifer Morgan, Lyle Zimmerman, Lynette Masini, Matthew Hicks, Betty Clementz, and Elise Moeller. Many, many members of the congregation – too numerous to list – volunteer to assist in each of the activities listed above.
Members of the congregation are encouraged to join this ministry team in any of these activities. Thank you to the committee members for their leadership and participation and to all the members of the congregation who supported the efforts of the Hospitality Ministry Team!
