A Skype interview (over the internet) was conducted with a third candidate on February 16th. The committee decided this candidate could be a potential fit for Immanuel therefore this person will be visiting Immanuel and our community for a formal interview on March 10th.
The second candidate interviewed in November 2016 who withdrew now has a renewed interest in Immanuel. This candidate is available to Immanuel again as an interview with another congregation did not work out. Since the committee felt this candidate was a good fit for Immanuel, a second interview will be scheduled.
Please continue to pray for the work of this committee and the candidates who are discerning these calls. There are 30 congregations in the Northern Illinois Synod in need of a pastor.
