Council Highlights from Zoom Meeting – July 6, 2020

1.  The Council reviewed the results from the surveys submitted by the congregation.  A lengthy discussion on the expressions in numerous categories received from the congregational members was held.  The survey results were emailed and snail mailed to those without email.  It is a lengthy document and if upon review you have questions, contact a member of the Church Council or Pastor Bree for further explanation. I am including the results from the primary question, “When do you feel comfortable returning to in-person worship?” 42% wish to continue with on-line. 36% wish to return with gatherings of 50 people or less.  The remaining 22% wish to continue on-line indefinitely, even if the church re-opens until a vaccine or effective treatment is produced.

2.  Church Council voted unanimously, to have all components of our services remain as they currently are being held.  However, to prepare for the transition back to Sunday services and other activities a sub-committee, called the COVID Response Task Force was formed to develop policies and procedures for our transition back to regular services and other activities and events. The committee members are: Andrea Wright, Chairman; Bill Wescott, Nick Dirks, Kevin Arnold, Natalie Ramos, and Pastor Bree.  They will be meeting on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. to begin the process.  Updates will be shared as they are developed.

3.  Pastor Bree shared information concerning the costs for the on-going collaboration for online Tri Church Worship.  The cost relates to technical aspects of gathering and preparing the online services.  The cost is approximately $200 a week.  It is being suggested by those involved that this cost be shared.  Each church will contribute $70.00 a week to cover this cost. Council voted unanimously to approve the request.
