Women of the ELCA – WELCA OF IMMANUEL – November 2018

World Community Day of Church Women United (CWU) is Friday, November 2, 2018.  This event will be held at Immanuel beginning with a 12:30 p.m. dessert followed by the program. We are collecting pre-school through 5th grade for boys and girls new underwear, socks, caps, gloves, sweat pants and sweat shirts. They will accept gently used sweat pants and sweat shirts.  The clothing will be distributed by the local school nurses when needed.  There is a collection clothes basket in the narthex.

Women of the ELCA will be observing Thank Offering Sunday, November 18th.  There will be envelopes in the pews for this mission of support for outreach.  The Thank Offering is to provide crucial support for ministries that include Gather magazine and Bible study; ministry resources for women’s health; human trafficking; outreach through social media and partnerships with other Christian women’s organizations.

Mission Action Sewing Servants will be meeting on Wednesdays, November 14th and November 28th from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.  Plan on joining this group involved in many projects which do not require sewing.  Contact Violet Mead if you would like to work on a project at home.

Next combined circle meeting will be on Tuesday, November 20th at the 9:00 a.m. with Mary Circle as hostesses. Pastor Bree will explore with us the second of the three part series on Repentance. All women of Immanuel are members of WELCA and welcome to join the next Bible Study.
