Word from our Treasurer

Greetings and God’s blessings upon you and your families during these times of both challenge, but also opportunity. THANK YOU for fulfilling your  commitments to the church, honoring your pledge to support Immanuel in our good works. Our financial picture continues to look good as of this writing, and it is because of all of you sending in your envelopes.  Praise be to God.

I would like to share with you a collection of thoughts that have come from myself, as well as, others who have written about such things. We all know as Christians that every challenge we face in life is an opportunity for us to grow, develop our faith more deeply, perseverance and character. Meet every challenge as an opportunity for God to show himself to be strong in your life.

No matter what challenges come our way, and lately there have been many. Always remember that God is bigger than any obstacle you will ever face in your life and God will make a way where you don’t see a way. I thank God everyday for the strength and direction God is providing to me during these most unusual of times for all of us.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convince, but where he stands at times of challenges and controversy. The true neighbor will risk his possessions, his prestige and even his life for the welfare of others.”  Do you agree?  We need not look farther than our medical teams, first responders, volunteers, etc. that are putting themselves in harms way for our well-being.

Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they are supposed to help you discover who you are. Be safe, help others when you can, and you need to remember GOD is only a prayer away.
